Workplace accidents and deaths rise year-on-year in Jan. 42,166 work-related accident reports were submitted to Inail in the first month of 2024, a rise of 6.8% compared to January 2023.
Of these, 45 were fatal (+4.7%) and the number of occupational diseases reported also rose by 30.7% to 6,218. The government has since announced new measures to improve safety particularly in the construction industry. The measures have received a mixed response from unions.
