Zubin Mehta celebrated with Staatskapelle Berlin. The famous conductor and the renowned orchestra received a sustained ovation for their interpretation of the Eighth Symphony by Anton Bruckner.

The piece, which was completed in 1887 after three years of work, is considered one of the highlights of symphonic composition. In 1892, the composer and music critic Hugo Wolf raved that the work was the “creation of a giant”. The house orchestra was appointed him honorary conductor in 2014. For a long time he was also musical director of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
