Tomás Etcheverry lost to Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals of Roland Garros. The 23-year-old Argentine was one step away from the semifinals of the second Grand Slam of the season.
He became the first non-seeded player to get into the top eight without losing a partial since Uruguayan Marcelo Filippini in 1999. He made sure to climb to 32nd place in the ranking, his best position, and be the second Argentine placed, behind Francisco Cerúndolo.
