Carlos Alcaraz has withdrawn from the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell. The 20-year-old does not feel fully recovered from an injury to his right forearm.

The Murcian had already pulled out of the Monte Carlo Masters last week. He has won the Conde de Godó Trophy in the last two years with a win over Pablo Carreño in the 2022 final and Stefanos Tsisipas in the 2023 final. He will now focus his efforts on reaching the Madrid Masters and Rome Masters in May and June, which are both on the clay court tour. The young Spaniard will communicate his decision to the Real Club de Tenis de Barcelona (RCTB) on Monday, going personally to the tournament's organizing body, the tournament organization said in a brief statement. The double Godó champion will play his first round against the winner of the duel between Luca Van Assche and Zhizhen Zhang on Wednesday, April 25. The tournament will be held at the Estadio Olimpico del Rey in Barcelona.
