Almost exactly a year later: Ski star tears his cruciate ligament again while attempting a comeback. Gigler was due to return to the slopes at the home race on the Reiteralm on Sunday.
The 22-year-old fell during training for the race and was then taken to hospital for examinations. The ÖSV athlete is scheduled to undergo surgery at the Hochrum private clinic on Tuesday. The planned comeback has therefore been put on hold for the time being and will probably only take place in about a year.
