Tom Pidcock wins the Amstel Gold Race. The 24-year-old Englishman is the first British winner in this Dutch classic.

World champion Mathieu van der Poel, less aerial, was trapped in a second group. Paul Lapeira, long at the front of the race, took 5th place. Valentin Madouas, finished 6th and Quentin Pacher, 8th. The race ended 28 km from the finish during the ascent of Keutenberg under the leadership of Tiesj Benoot. He took behind him 11 other runners including Tom Pid cock, Marc Hirschi and four French people. The gap with the peloton increased to 55 seconds. The French revelations at the start of 2024 (3 victories) left the 2nd group, and got closer to 9 seconds, but could not join this quartet of strong men who therefore fought for victory in the sprint despite the return of the pursuers. It is the triptych of Ardennes classics before Flèche wallonne and Strade Bianche.
