French handball player Benoît Kounkoud is accused of attempted rape. The 26-year-old right winger, who plays for a Polish club, was taken into custody on Tuesday morning.
A woman in her twenties accuses him of having tried to rape her in a nightclub in the capital. The investigation is continuing, in particular in order to collect more testimonies, says the Paris prosecutor's office. The French Handball Federation is not in a position to comment on this matter at this stage.
