Tahitian Reynald Temarii is accused of passive private corruption in the investigation for the award of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar. Former Tahitian vice-president of Fifa has been indicted for corruption.

Since November 2021, he had been placed under the more favorable status of assisted witness in this case. The assumption of the defense costs of Mr. Temarrii for an amount of 305,000 euros by the influential Qatari Mohamed Bin Hammam also intrigues the investigating judges.
