Christo Popov becomes the first Frenchman to enter the last four of a Super 1000 tournament. The 22-year-old avenged his brother Toma Junior in the quarter-final of the English Open.
He will face the winner of the match between the Dane Viktor Axelsen and the Indonesian Anthony Sinisuka Ginting in the semi-final. Popov is fighting with his brother for the only ticket to the men's individual tournament at the Paris Olympics. The verdict is scheduled for May 1.
