1. FC Heidenheim coach Frank Schmidt is the longest-serving coach in German professional football.
The 49-year-old took over the club in the fifth division on an interim basis in 2007. He was promoted to the Bundesliga with FCH almost 16 years later. The players gave Schmidt a beer shower at the press conference after the 3-2 win over SSV Jahn Regensburg in the second division championship match. Schmidt: "There will be peeing at some point"
