Joao Cancelo is still signed to Manchester City, but his relationship with the club came to a screeching halt. Pep Guardiola publicly criticized the Portuguese's conduct when the latter did not get playing minutes.
Guardiola claimed that Cancelo did not favor Rico Luis and Nathan Ake when they got the place in the rotation. The defender responded to the criticism of the Blues coach: "I left my wife and daughter scared at home after a violent robbery at our place, for a game at Arsenal"
