Hamburger SV's second division game against Hannover 96 was about to be canceled due to protests against investors joining the DFL. Fans from HSV's north curve managed to lock heavy bicycle locks on the posts of a goal.
The locks could only be removed using a power cutter. Objects also flew onto the field. The referee announced via the stadium announcer that he would cancel the game if further actions followed. In the block of 96 supporters, banners could be seen with the inscriptions: “CVC & Blackstone puppets of Saudi Arabia’s sportswashing”
