Kunter, who was just 1.76 meters tall, guarded the Hessen goal from 1965 to 1976. He won the DFB Cup in 1974 and 1975 with the traditional club. In total he played 287 competitive games for thetraditional club in the Bundesliga. In addition to his sporting career, Kunter also studied dentistry and received his doctorate.
