Belgian Wout Van Aert, 29, suffers from multiple fractures following his fall in Across Flanders ten days ago. The rider forfeited for the two major objectives of his spring - the Tour of Flanders won on Sunday March 31 by Mathieu van der Poel and Paris-Roubaix this Sunday.
He presents fractures to several ribs, to the sternum and to a clavicle. But the rider showed his optimism on social networks: “Not moving forward is going backwards,” he commented without mentioning a package for the Giro.
