Women's D1 and D2 clubs adopt an employer recommendation granting protection "in matters of health, pregnancy and maternity" for players. Clubs must now guarantee “maintenance of remuneration, without conditions of seniority or waiting days, when a player is on sick leave or on maternity leave” The French Football Federation announced a plan for the development of women's football in April 2023, including a budget of 5 million euros in annual investments.

On July 1, 2024, the women's clubs are moving forward by granting these rights to professional players.
