Death of Michel Jazy, the popular runner of the de Gaulle years who only missed Olympic gold. Died this Thursday, February 1, the famous French athlete had an immense career on the slopes in the 1950s and 1960s.

He leaves behind a wife and two children. During his incredible career spanning the 1950-60s, he improved 9 world records, 17 European records and around fifty (47) French records. Our colleagues from L'Équipe named him French champion of the year three times (1960, 1962, 1965)
