Both team doctors who rushed to help gave the all-clear and signaled that the person was doing acceptably under the circumstances. The DHB selection lost 31:34 and ended the home European Championship in fourth place. The game for third place at the European Handball Championship between Germany and Sweden was interrupted for a long time after almost 17 minutes. After several minutes the situation was finally resolved.
