Ferran Olivella has died at the age of 86. Olivella played for FC Barcelona for 13 seasons, from 1956 to 1969.

He won four Cups, three Fairs Cups and two Leagues after playing 513 games. The defender was the captain of the Spanish team that won the Euro 1964 against the USSR. He was also one of the players who offered the then Barça president Miró-Sans to lower the ground due to the difficult economic situation of the entity due to construction of the Camp Nou.
