M6 confirms acquisition of the rights for the 2026 and 2030 World Cups. The channel will broadcast the meetings in the clear, announced Nicolas de Tavernost, Thursday morning on RTL.

If no sub-licensing agreement is signed with TF1, the latter could not broadcast a single World Cup match for the very first time in its history. Of the 104 matches of 2026 World Cup in the United States, 54 will be broadcast unencrypted. The 2030 World Cup will take place in three countries: Morocco, Spain and Portugal.
