Fernando Alonso has signed a multi-year deal with Aston Martin. The Spaniard will continue with the British team until the end of 2026.

Alonso is currently 8th in the drivers' championship, Aston Martin 5th among the constructors. The 42-year-old has been linked with a move to Mercedes or Red Bull in the event of the departure of Max Verstappen, who is currently with the Dutch team. The double world champion is currently in his fourth season with the Aston Martin F1 team. He finished 4th in his first season in 2023, his best ranking since 2013 (he finished vice-world champion that year), and is 8th after four rounds contested in 2024. The new technical regulations and the arrival of Honda as Aston Martin engine supplier will mark the start of new regulations in 2026, says Mike Krack, the team boss. “I want to give everything in our project to become a world champion team,” adds the driver, also quoted.
