Israeli swimmer Anastasia Gorbenko won a silver medal at the World Swimming Championships. The 20-year-old was close to gold in the 400 meter individual medley in Qatar, when she set a new Israeli record with 4:37.36 minutes.

She led after the 100-meter backstroke, then lost the lead, but returned to first place and entered the final pool with the gold in her hands, but eventually lost by 22 hundredths to Britain's Freya Constance Colbert who took the gold.
