In January 2021, he was purchased by Gent and signed with the Belgian team for 4.5 years. After having trouble getting minutes and leaving a mark in Ghent, Melda moved to Mechelen in the summer of 2022 with a three-year contract. This season he made 13 appearances and scored three goals in the Belgian league.
