Nissim Kivithi, one of the greatest sports broadcasters in Israel, passed away at the age of 97. Among his highlights: Israel's first participation in the Olympic Games and the match against Australia in the 90 World Cup qualifiers.
In his youth he was an athlete and his first significant victory was the title of champion of the Land of Israel in the 1,500 meter run. In January 2014 he received an award for lifetime achievement in sports, in a ceremony organized by the Israel Veterans Sports Association.
