UAE cyclist Tadej Pogacar will face his only stage race of the course in Catalonia before attacking the mammoth challenge of the Giro and the Tour. The 25-year-old Slovenian has devoured, a double winner of the Tour (2020 and 2021), one Flanders, two Lombardies, one Liege.
Only seven cyclists have overcome a double grand tour in history -Coppi (1949 and 1952), Anquetil (1964), Merckx (1970, 1972 and 1974) and Hinault (1982 and 1985)
