André Boniface died this Monday at the age of 89. The three-quarter center had worn the French XV jersey 48 times from 1954 to 1966.

Born in Monfort-en-Chalosse, he never left his Landes, in Dax for one season before wearing the Stade Montois jersey for twenty years (1952 to 1972) Club with which he was crowned champion of France in 1963. His career was also marked by the impossible loss of his younger brother, Guy, who died in a car accident in 1968.
