ASM Clermont beat Ulster 53-14 in the quarter-final of the Challenge Cup. The Clermontois will face the Sharks in the semi-finals of the second European Cup.

Pita Gus Sowakula, Peceli Yato, Alex Newsome, Rob Simmons and Joris Jurand scored tries for ASM. Anthony Belleau kicked three penalties and a conversion for the Clermons. Nick Timoney scored a consolation try for the Irish, but missed the conversion after the siren. The semi-final will take place on the weekend of May 4-5 in South Africa, with the winners of Edinburgh (36-30) to face the Clermont. The final will be held in Paris on May 25. The winner will be crowned European Champions. The other semifinal will be played on May 26-27 in Paris. The winners will be announced on May 28-29 in Paris and May 29-30 in Dublin. The finals will be for the second time in a row.
