The French men's and women's teams got off to a perfect start to the Los Angeles tournament with a victory each. Antoine Dupont scored a try at the end of the match.
The tournament continues on Saturday with the rest of the group stages and the men's quarter-finals, before ending on Sunday. The French, who finished 3rd in Vancouver, are preparing for the Paris Olympic Games (July 26 - August 11) The tournament is being held at Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles.
