AC Milan owners want to build a new stadium with a capacity of 70,000 seats. The club currently shares the same venue with Inter Milan, the historic San Siro.
Gerry Cardinale, founder and director of RedBird Capital, said he wanted to provide his club with its own venue, taking inspiration from American stadiums, where sporting events and entertainment alternate. For their part, the municipal authorities are proposing to work on a renovation ofSan Siro, reaffirming this last week. The seven-time European champion club took control of AC Milan in 2022 for 1.2 billion euros.
