Spanish justice is investigating 89 bank accounts and 27 companies belonging to ex-Barcelona star Gerard Piqué. Pique is reputed to be close to Luis Rubiales, the former president of the Spanish football federation (RFEF) The aim of the investigation is to find out whether the awarding of the competition is tainted by corruption or a conflict of interest, and whether the former Barcelona player, creator of the Kings World Cup, played any illegal role in it.
