Léon Marchand won the 200-yard breaststroke (183 meters) of the NCAA university finals in a new record time of 1'46''35. The Frenchman scored a double victory by winning the 200m breaststroke as well as the NCAA title with Arizona State University.

Four months before the Paris Olympic Games (July 26 - August 11), where he is a big favorite in several disciplines, Marchand is participating in the NCAA finals. Marchand studies and trains with Bob Bowman, former mentor of Michael Phelps.
