Léon Marchand won the 400-yard medley at the NCAA finals on Friday. The 21-year-old Frenchman also won the 500-yard freestyle on Thursday.
Marchand studies and trains with Bob Bowman, former mentor of Michael Phelps. He is a big favorite in several disciplines at the Paris Olympic Games in July. He has held the world record in the 400m medley since last summer and the World Championships in Fukuoka (Japan), where he won three individual titles.
