FC Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen praised Serge Gnabry after the 2-2 draw against Arsenal FC in the Champions League. The 28-year-old was substituted in the 70th minute after suffering a torn muscle fiber in his left back thigh.

Bayern will be without the France international for at least two to three weeks. The 45-time national player actually wanted to fight for a place in Julian Nagelsmann's European Championship squad through good performances in the next few weeks. This project has now been stopped for the time being. Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel will have to make do with a weakened squad for the second leg of the quarter-final against the Gunners. The result means that Tuchel's side have a good chance of progressing to the semi-finals of the competition for the first time in their history. Bayern have won the last three Champions League titles, the last two at the Allianz Arena and the last four at the Signal Iduna Park.
