Remco Evenepoel leaves the Giro d'Italia after a positive test for Covid-19. The Belgian had just won the 9th stage of the race in Cesena.
He is the fifth rider to leave this 106th edition of the GIRO because of the positive test. The 23-year-old Flemish is due to return to Belgium on Monday by car, according to his team Soudal-Quick Step. He had won the inaugural time trial, before crashing twice during the fifth stage.
