Manchester City beat Manchester United 1-2 in the FA Cup final at Wembley. A United fan was arrested for wearing a shirt that read "97, that's not enough" The number 97 was a reference to the 97 Liverpool fans who lost their lives in the Hillsborough tragedy in 1989.

A Manchester City fan was also seen waving a plane into the air, believed to be teasing rivals United over the Munich disaster, in which eight of the club's players were killed in a plane crash in 1958. Police are reviewing CCTV footage after an object was thrown at Manchester United player Victor Lindelof.
