Red Bull driver Max Verstappen won the seventh race of the Formula 1 season in Barcelona. The 25-year-old extended his lead in the world championship standings to 53 points with the next start-finish victory over teammate Sergio Perez.
Lewis Hamilton finished second with George Russell third in the Mercedes. Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz failed to ensure a podium finish at their home race. Nico Hulkenberg finished 15th in the Haas and again remained without points in the Spanish Grand Prix.
