Eight Jet Suit pilots competed in the air at Dubai Harbor on Wednesday, February 28, in the world's first race of its kind. Gravity Industries, a pioneer in the field of jet suits, organized this race in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council.
First launched in 2017, the Jet Suit can now operate at speeds above 80 mph and is capable of flying over most terrain, according to organizers. In 2020, Frenchman Vince Reffect killed himself using a Jetwing, a backpack device similar to airplane wings.
