Sean Weissman scored on his debut in the Salernitana uniform. The Israeli striker was on loan in the Italian league from Granada in Spain.
Weissman's goal made it 1:1, when visiting Empoli took the lead in the 23rd minute from an own goal by Alessandro Zanoli. The striker was not Salernotina's only acquisition towards the end of the window. The team also signed two veteran and well-known stoppers in the form of ex-Bayern Munich Jerome Boateng and ex-Roma Costas Manolas.
