Mohamed Haouas is accused of hitting his wife, Friday, in broad daylight and in front of multiple witnesses and CCTV cameras, in a shopping center in Montpellier. The 29-year-old international is suspected of domestic violence.
Married and father of two children, Haoua has been in pre-trial detention since Sunday after being summoned by the liberty and detention judge. He faces three years in prison. It is unlikely that the coach, Fabien Galthié, will call on him for the 2023 World Cup next September.
