The national anti-terrorism prosecution does not take up the investigation into the Lyon station attack. Five days after the attack at Lyon station, the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office (PNAT) rules out the terrorist trail at this stage.

“It appears that the person concerned, whose psychiatric disorders are otherwise indisputable, acted in a dynamic of personal revenge,” the PNAT says. The attacker, 32, of Malian origin and with valid Italian papers, denounces France and President Emmanuel Macron.
