Another drilling machine was launched as part of excavation of the underground part of the light rail's green line. In total, the underground section will extend for 4 km with 6 stations, at a depth of about 30 meters.
The entire line will stretch for 39 km and include 62 stations, from Rishon Lezion Derech Holon and Tel Aviv-Jaffa to Herzliya. Officially, it is supposed to start operating in 2028, but outgoing NTA CEO Haim Glick estimated that the opening would be delayed by a year.
