A Taiwanese man has both legs amputated to receive 1 million euros in insurance, he is being prosecuted for fraud. A 23-year-old young man was pushed by a friend to inflict serious injuries on his legs in order to cause them to be amputated, then to die altogether.

The young man had in fact taken out numerous insurance contracts a few weeks before the events. Only his “historic” insurance compensated him, to the tune of 6,700 euros, far from the million he hoped for.
