A vast fraud on Linky meters brought to light by the gendarmes in Doubs. A decade later, scammers managed to “crack” the energy calculation system.
In December 2023, the Doubs gendarmedes arrested two suspects behind a well-established scam in the department. They also seized tampered with meters in order to reduce electricity bills. The investigation began with a simple tip. As early as March 20 23, a source indicated to the sleuths of the Besançon research brigade that a man approached him by offering to intervene on his Linky meter. He promised him a significant saving on his bill.
