Internal training stands as an alternative to the hiring jungle in the technology sector. 78% of Spanish companies claim to have difficulties finding talent and incorporating the profiles they are looking for.

According to the latest Report on Employability and Digital Talent, female technology workers earn 7.5% less than their male colleagues. Increasing female participation in technological training pathways and reducing the wage gap can provide a solution to the shortage of trained personnel in the ICT sector, says Rueda Ruesa, director of the VASS foundation. The new paradigm of digital transformation represents a great opportunity for Spain, she adds. The problem is that only 23% of women in ICT have been trained, which is clearly insufficient to achieve the effective parity in the sector, she says, adding: “Fundamentally, we face two challenges; on the one hand, that we consider this sector as a good shelter within the new map of occupations and on the other, that continuous changes are carried out within the sector”
