British singer Steve Harley ("Make Me Smile") passed away at the age of 73. Harley founded Cockney Rebel in 1972, along with Jean Paul Crocker, Stuart Elliott, Paul Jeffries and Nick Jones.

Among the band's other hits were "Judy Teen" and "Mr. Soft" In 1977, he decided to start a solo career, which spanned about five decades. He recorded, with the band and separately, about a dozen studio albums, the last of which was in 2020.
