Daihatsu resumes part of production after test scandal. The car company specializing in small cars, controlled by Toyota, has resumed producing two models at the plant located in Kyoto prefecture.

In December, Daihatsu admitted it had falsified data in safety tests for most of its models since 1989, leading to a halt to all shipments at home and abroad. The company has also resumed shipments to Malaysia and Indonesia after obtaining approval from local authorities in the two Southeast Asian countries. The Probox commercial van is produced for Toyota and the Familia Van for Mazda.
