In the last year, more than 1,500 Toyota Corolla models were stolen in Israel, but the most stolen car is the electric Hyundai Ioniq 5. Data from the police and the insurance companies reveal that in the past year there was a dramatic increase in the rate of car thefts.
The phenomenon costs the citizens of Israel hundreds of millions of shekels every year and seriously harms governance and personal security. The police have been devoting manpower and strenuous activity to eradicating the phenomenon, but that the existing model is not functioning.
