The 76th Independence Day of the State of Israel will be celebrated in a more modest way. In most cities there will be no big stages and no big artists and in many of them no fireworks either.

Many municipalities will not set off fireworks out of consideration for the trauma of the battle and the victims of the panic. "It is clear to all of us that this is not a normal year," said the mayor of Or Yehuda, Liat Shohat. "We will celebrate, but a little differently," said Mayor Zika Brotika of Bat Yam.
