Rescue resources are being deployed to find the trace of a kayaker seen in difficulty this Saturday on the Vienne. The athlete was seen near Aixe-sur-Vienne, a town located about ten kilometers west of Limoges.
The section of the river where the kayaker was seen was listed as orange flood alert, before a lowering of the threshold to yellow alert. According to Vigicrues, the watercourse rose more than 2 meters above its usual level during the day.
