A pharmacist from Doubs was sentenced to three years in prison for defrauding the Primary Health Insurance Fund (CPAM) of more than 600,000 euros. The trader from Morteau, near the Swiss border, was convicted of aggravated fraud to the detriment of an organization charged with a public service mission.

Tried on prior admission of guilt, the 50-year-old man was also ordered on Wednesday to compensate the CPAM and pay 30,000 euro in fines. Three apartments were confiscated: in Val d'Isère, in Fréjus and in Morteaux.
