Higher parking fees for SUVs: Why this is illegal in Germany. In Paris, SUVs and off-road vehicles will have to pay higher parking fees from September.
In Koblenz, they want to follow the example of the French capital and, from March 1st, charge fees for resident parking based on vehicle dimensions. The Federal Administrative Court recently ruled in other cases that the same law applies to all car owners. According to the judges' decision, unequal treatment based on car size is not permitted.
